Open Time Appliance — hardware overview

Grandmaster clock platform — modular, scalable, resilient PNT in a rack-ready chassis.

5 min read

The Open Time Appliance is TimeBeat's flagship grandmaster. It combines the Open TimeCard's core timing engine with a full Ethernet switch, SFP and RJ45 output options, and a choice of three oscillator grades — from a 1.5 µs quartz DOCXO up to the elite Rubidium Black+ that drifts less than 120 nanoseconds over 24 hours. Three appliances fit in a single rack unit, and every one ships with anti-jam and anti-spoof protection at the GNSS front end.
